A sloping site is always a challenge, but the sheer scale of this project, and the fact that the owners are themselves keen gardeners, made it a real test. Our response was a blend of the traditional and the contemporary, the formal and informal, including such features as a walled garden with potager, croquet lawn with topiary, a wild flower meadow, a modern water garden, woodland area and a driveway lined with rhododendrons and woodland groundcover.
